The Red IT Excel Sage Orders utility allows Sage Line
200 and Line 500 Sales Order data to be captured using a
standalone Excel client. The main benefits are:
- it is very easy to use and intuitive
- it allows quick order entry with minimum of key
strokes
- it does not require a Sage licence and can be
used for internal SOP users or distributed to
customers to improve order taking efficiency
- it allows orders to be taken and emailed to head
office for processing electronically with out the
need for implementing expensive EDI solutions
- the data available for selection in the Excel
spreadsheet is fully validated and can be tailored
so that different users can have different options
The powerful functionality of the Excel Sage Orders
utility is best described by example. In the scenario
below, an order is taken using Excel at a customer site
and the data is imported in to the Sage server.
The first step is to select the customer code (which
can be restricted to one code or a range if the user is
ordering for other group companies) and enter the header
information. After this, the user just selects products
from those available on the drop down list before using
‘Submit’ to create the electronic order and email it to
the Sage server \ SOP user:

The orders are then imported in to Sage as required
either automatically or in batch mode.
